Clients
· Clearly state
what you need- It’s your requirement. Be very clear in stating what you
need. The more details you provide, the more likely you are to find what you
are looking for.
· One at a
time - To make everyone’s lives easier, let’s have one design per contest.
· Interact-
It’s very important to interact with the designers who are vying for your project.
The feedback you provide to them will be key to getting the design(s) you want.
Make your feedback as detailed as possible.... it REALLY helps the designers!
Of course, if you are too busy to follow up with the designers, it really might
not help your case.
· No
Payment. No Design- A Gentle reminder
that you cannot make use of the winning design till you pay the designer. You
don’t wanna get into copyright issues....
· Coding –
What’s that? You’re on your own there..... for now at least
· Shooting
blanks - A guaranteed contest is exactly what it means. You must declare a
winner. The regular contest however, gives you the discretion of withdrawing if
you do not find a suitable solution. But then, that’s not going to help you in
the future... damaged credibility and all....
· The prize
– each contest must have at least one prize attached to it. You can add
incentives as per your discretion.
· The
finished product – to get a design that you can work with from the very
beginning, it is important that you specify the format of the finished product.
Ask for vector formats like CorelDRAW, Adobe Photoshop etc. It will be that
much easier to convert it into formats that you can use in the future.
Consumers
· Copyright
– Your work is yours till you have been paid. There is no discrepancy
there. This also gives you the freedom
of withdrawing your design if you feel like leaving.... unless you have been
paid
· Choose
what you are good at – don’t be swayed by the prizes offered. Work on
assignments you have a better chance of winning given your background,
experience, etc.
· Payment –
Adverteaze is not responsible for the release of your payment. Make sure that
the mode of payment specified by the contest holder is suitable for you
· A word of
advice - Your chances of success would be higher if you pay better
attention to what the client wants. Read the requirements more carefully so
that you have clarity while you are in your creative zone.
· Ownership
- If you own it, flaunt it. Please ensure that the work that you are
submitting is your own.
